“I would highly recommend Hesper Dickson! As first time buyers, we were very anxious about the whole process, and Hesper went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything and that we were comfortable during the process. We were constantly updated with new houses to look at on a daily basis, and she was always willing to work around our work schedule to be open to show us houses. She was also a great negotiator, when we ended up in a bidding war with another potential buyer. I felt safe in Hesper’s care. She even helped us with questions we had after we officially bought our house and had already moved in! I definitely will be using her again in future buying or selling of homes. You will not regret working with her!”

I was born and raised in Brevard, North Carolina. You could say that the town is in my blood but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have to explore a little of the rest of North Carolina. I went to school at Appalachian State in Boone, NC and then moved to Asheville, NC until 2001. Some might argue that I came to my senses and returned to Brevard.

I truly love our year-round community that doesn’t shut down after the leaves fall. The restaurants and shops stay open, which is great for when you don’t want to cook. There are so many great, delicious restaurants that it’s often hard to choose!

Brevard is so much more than just food. We have an incredible arts scene. I realized, while serving on the Arts Council Board, just how much talent resides in our small town. It was also wonderful to witness and learn about the commitment to nurture that talent and the arts scene growth as a whole.

You can’t forget about the music scene. The Brevard Music Center’s six-week summer festival, the Mountain Song Festival, the White Squirrel Festival and several restaurants (including my favorite – 185 King) keep the music coming! You can find anything from classical to blue grass and everything in between.

Apart from the restaurants, community and the arts, Brevard has amazing trail access. Over half of Transylvania County is protected land, making an active and healthy lifestyle that much easier. All of these attributes add up to a high quality life and happy, friendly neighbors. When you enjoy where you live and your life, it shows and is infectious.
